We are excited to announce that over 30 additional acres of Hana coastline at Maka’alae has been acquired by Ke Ao Hali’i in partnership with the State of Hawaii, County of Maui, and Hawaii Land Trust. In September, 2021 Ke Ao Hali’i received a generous grant from Hawai’i People’s Fund (HPF). The funding received helped pay for costs associated with the reinternment of iwi kupuna that had been held in storage, for over 30 years, at the State Historic Preservation Division.
